Abstract
This article documents and evaluates the strategic cross-disciplinary collaboration between medical and computer science students from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) during their participation in the national Artificial Intelligence (AI) challenge in 2026. Recognizing the rapid integration of machine learning in healthcare, this joint initiative paired clinical medical insights with computational engineering expertise to develop predictive healthcare models, automated diagnostic tools, and digital epidemiological solutions. The study analyzes the collaborative frameworks, technological milestones, and innovative methodologies deployed by the student cohorts to tackle complex bio-medical problems on a national competitive stage. The results underscore the profound value of interdisciplinary synergy in higher education, demonstrating how combining clinical knowledge with technical AI expertise accelerates health-tech innovation, enhances student problem-solving competencies, and establishes a scalable archetype for future medical informatics curricula in Malaysia
