Tracking the global and Malaysian SDG achievement

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), adopted by the United Nations in 2015, serves as a universal agenda to eradicate poverty, reduce inequalities, protect the environment, and promote inclusive development by 2030. The SDG comprises of 17 goals and 169 targets that were designed to be a global framework, but their achievements differ significantly across developed, developing, and underdeveloped countries. While developed nations generally excel in goals related to education, health, and infrastructure, developing and underdeveloped countries struggle with persistent poverty, governance challenges, and environmental vulnerabilities. This paper reviews the progress of selected African and Asian countries before providing an analysis of Malaysia’s achievement, followed by a conclusion.
