Abstract

The program Service learning Malaysia university for society, organised by the Centre of Studies for Building Surveying, Faculty of Architecture, Planning and Surveying, Universiti Teknologi MARA Shah Alam, serves as a high-impact community engagement initiative bridging academic expertise with the hospitality industry. Held from 19 May 2025 to 22 May 2025 at Seri Bayu Resort, Bagan Lalang, Sepang, this session focuses on mobilizing 5 lecturers and 152 Bachelor of Building Surveying (Hons.) students to conduct knowledge-sharing sessions with resort management regarding building maintenance and executing a comprehensive building dilapidation study report. By translating classroom theories into practical industry solutions, the initiative directly addresses real-world maintenance challenges faced by the community: and it successfully enhances the students' professional competencies and technical skills while fostering sustainable resort management practices.
