Susu Segar Enterprise Dairy Farming

Dairy farming (cattle) is one of many livestock businesses and a good prospect as a source of income. Fresh milk is a product with high demand whether as pure fresh milk or as other processed product such as milk powder and others. It is produced on daily basis which mean it is a stable source of income. Besides milk we can also sell male calves (24-36 months) especially during Hari Raya Aidiladha as side income. Although this business need high initial capital (mostly for purchasing the breeding cows), there are many source many that can be loaned. We will be loaning from Bank Pertanian Malaysia for an amount of about RM 700,000 because it has the best loan scheme for agricultural or livestock based businesses. The profits that can be generated from this business are also quite high. This business is also aided by the government through subsidy and free guidance from Department of Veterinary Service (DVS). Before starting this business, all of us will attend a short course (2 weeks) about cattle management by the DVS. Attending this course will enable us to understand better the best method in cattle management in order to produce high quantity and quality of milk. By attending this course we will also be eligible to receive all the subsidies from the government. Despite the deadly diseases that cause problems to dairy farming overseas SABAH has been declared free from all dangerous diseases. This will be a huge advantage to us as we will not have to worry about this deadly disease.
