This industrial training report describes the internship at Cohu Malaysia Sdn. Bhd., based in Ayer Keroh, Melaka for the period 22 September 2025 to 6 March 2026. The internship was part of the Bachelor of International Business program, to engage students in a real working environment and improve practical, professional and technical skills. Cohu Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. is a subsidiary of Cohu, Inc., a multinational technology company listed on the stock exchange specifically, the National Association of Securities Dealers Automated Quotations (NASDAQ) Stock Market where it trades under the company's symbol, COHU. The company focuses on semiconductor test, inspection, automation and metrology equipment for major worldwide semiconductor suppliers. The Melaka production facility has positioned it as a key component in the Cohu company's global industrial structure and supply chain. During the internship, the trainee was assigned to the Spares Department as a Spares planner. Some of the roles were reading and verifying pick slips, arranging shipment documentation, filling in Airway Bills (AWB), making invoices and packing lists in the Oracle system, and working with logistics companies FedEx, DHL, TNT, UPS and many more. Such duties required great accuracy, attentiveness and close collaboration with the warehouse and planning teams in order to facilitate the smooth, error-free process of shipments. The trainee was exposed to import and export procedures, logistics coordination as well as operational workflows as a multinational process within the manufacturing process. The internship also significantly improved technical skills, that is Oracle and Microsoft Excel systems and data management and soft skills that include communication, team dynamics, time management, problem-solving skills and good work ethic. There were other advantages received from having the industrial training such as a monthly allowance, annual leave, medical leave and a place in the office setup along with a conducive working climate. During the whole period, this was a memorable and fulfilling internship that integrated all learning learned in the classroom with practical industry application this experience prepared the trainee for the future job market.
