Abstract
NILAM is a compulsory component at Malaysian schools. It is a strategy to grow interest in reading through organising and arranging activities among Malaysians, especially school children until they instil reading as a culture and habit among Malaysians. The objectives are to make pupils read more in all fields, quality material, and various genres instead of reading material oriented only to examination. Schools are encouraged to generate continuously creative and innovative ideas to inculcate this reading habit. Thus, I developed the NILAM -Interactive Reading Passport Kit (100 Reading Materials in 90 Days) to inculcate reading habits and culture among pupils. This kit suggests enjoyable and interactive activities for pupils in a wider scope to avoid them getting bored quickly with the old type NILAM recording book. This kit will also make them think creatively and expose them to various reading materials.
