Partnerships: why they matter

UiTM, Faculty of Civil Engineering (2025) Partnerships: why they matter. Bulletin. Faculty of Civil Engineering, Shah Alam.

Abstract

This paper discusses the integration of Sustainable Development Goal 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) within higher education curricula, focusing on enriching student learning through strategic collaborations with industry, professional bodies, and external experts. By embedding industry-linked projects and real-world case studies into core courses such as Construction Project Management, Integrated Design Project (IDP), and Project Planning and Control, the framework bridges the gap between academic theory and professional practice. It emphasizes the importance of supporting industrial training, professional engagement, and joint academic activities with partner institutions. Ultimately, this collaborative approach prepares students to operate effectively in multidisciplinary environments, fostering the practical skills and stakeholder management required for the modern industry.
