Climate action: why it matters

UiTM, Faculty of Civil Engineering (2025) Climate action: why it matters. Bulletin. Faculty of Civil Engineering, Shah Alam.

Abstract

Climate action is an urgent global imperative necessary to mitigate the devastating impacts of global warming and ensure the survival of planetary ecosystems. This paper examines the critical importance of reducing greenhouse gas emissions, transitioning to renewable energy, and implementing adaptive strategies to combat rising sea levels and extreme weather events. It highlights how climate change disproportionately affects vulnerable communities, threatens food security, and disrupts economic stability. By exploring collective international policies and localized environmental initiatives, the study underscores that immediate climate action is vital for fostering ecological resilience and securing a sustainable future.
