UiTM Penang strengthens regional collaboration through data science with Universitas Negeri Malang.

Abstract
This article documents the strategic involvement of Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Penang Branch in strengthening regional academic and research collaboration with Universitas Negeri Malang (UM), Indonesia. The four-day programme, held from 12 to 15 November 2025, was organised and fully sponsored by the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), UM. UiTM Penang Branch was represented by Associate Professor Ir. Ts. Dr. Samsul Setumin, a senior researcher from the Machine Learning Research Group (MLRG), who served as a keynote speaker, co-lecturer, and academic advisor throughout the programme.
