Abstract

Two years. It was a beautiful place to stay, one she made into a home. Then the flood devoured Segamat and tore everything down. A newly renovated single storey house with belongings worth a fortune, excluding interior and exterior damages, earned and lost overnight. Nothing would have prepared her to anticipate this kind of a disaster within 2 years of her occupation here. The flood happen to hit worst at the area she was occupying, Paya Pulai. The locals said it's the worst of its kind in 10 years, some 17 years. However, this entry is not about grieving the loss of a home or its sense of belonging... Its more about the emotional damages it caused the tenant and landlord, who were once friends.
