Impact of island development towards resident's quality of life at Perhentian Island, Besut, Terengganu

Development is important to increase resident Quality of Life. The development on island is far behind than mainland significantly led to decrease on Quality of Life (Qol) among island residents. However, to develop an island, proper study on benefit and strategies needs to be study in order to fulfil the needs of island residents. Therefore, the aim of this research is to determine the impact of island development towards resident quality of life at Perhentian Island, Terengganu. In order to achieve the aim of the study, the objectives of this research to identify island development in Perhentian Island, Terengganu, to determine the benefit of island development in Perhentian Island, Terengganu towards resident quality of life and to proposed strategies in improving resident quality of life at Perhentian Island, Terengganu. The research methodology used in this research was quantitative method by using observation method questionnaire method. The respondents of this research are the resident of Perhentian Island. Checklist constructed from literature review was used to analyse observation while Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 28.0 was used to analyse the data collected from the questionnaire survey. Observation shows the current development of Perhentian Island. A total of 111 questionnaires were distributed to resident of Perhentian Island, with 71 of them being collected which brought a 64% of the return rate.
