Abstract
Batik, a significant part of Malaysian identity, is a laborious process that not all Batik enthusiasts are familiar with. According to Akhir et al. (2015), batik is the process of employing a resist technique to color fabric. Malaysian batik comes in two varieties, namely hand-drawn batik or Batik Lukis Tangan, and stamped batik. Hand-drawn batik involves the canting process to design the fabrics. A variety of materials are used such as cotton, silk, linen, rayon, and voile. These textiles are decorated with geometric and floral designs that are based on the tastes of batik enthusiasts. Typically, batik is created in lengths of two or four meters. Four meters are usually used by women for baju kurung and two meters for kemeja.
