Abstract
The Industrial training was located in a rural area which was in Lagud Sebrang Tenom. It was about 15km from Tenom town. Sabah Agriculture Park was a government organization that officially declared opened by Tun Dr. Mahathir bin Mohamad, the Former Prime Minister of Malaysia on 25th March 2001 but actually opened to public in 2000. The park is part of a research station under the preview of the Department of Agriculture Sabah. The park is about 607 hectares and divided into two areas. Head Quarters and hill areas. The contruction of the park was started in 1995, encompassing an area of 202 hectares. The Manager of the park is Mr. Jain Linton. The park has been awarded as the "Best Tourist Attraction Man Made" in 2004 and also awarded as "The Best of Landscape Contest" in 2005", 5th BMP-EAGA,Orchid Congress 2003" as the best lanscape, and "Best Nature Attraction-Government category in 2003" and many other award received by this park through out the years until now. Sabah Agriculture Park depicts activities in agriculture, horticuture, animal husbandary and fisheries, as reflected in the various gardens, model farm and recreational spots. The park has an amazing collection of plants; some are very rare or listed as endangered plants. Some were introduced from other country such as the South American Water Lily (Victoria amazonica) which was one of the park attractions. The park also has the collections of Hoyas and Gingers, unique groups of ornamental plants that reputed to be the best in Malaysia. Other attractions of the park include a collection of 300 native Borneo Orchid species in the Native Orchid Centre, various hybrid orchids in the Orchid Centre, the Living Museum of Crops Plants, the Bee Centre, the various ornamental gardens and an assortment of birds and animals at the Animal Park and fishes on the lakes. Sabah Agriculture Park has been built upon the concept of education as well as recreation; the park has a lot to offer, both to the ordinary visitor as well as to serious scientist. The park is also well known as a centre for conservation of rare plant species especially the native orchids. As for honeybees, there are four species out of nine in the world which can be found in the park. Lastly, some most awaiting events that organized by the park is "Pesta Sunga" and fishing competition. There are many activities conducted during the day and be one of the gratest attraction to public. Mostly, the event will be held once a year about two to three days and open to public to visits.
