Report on industrial training at Jabatan Pertanian Daerah Sandakan

Jabatan Pertanian Sandakan are established in 1905. This agencies are main purpose to implement agricultural policies that have been outlined by the government. Under the guidance of some of the Jabatan Pertanian has approved to accelerate the development and maintenance of land right. In the Federal of Malaysia Agreement (1974), in line with the established of the state government provision has been made the established of the State Agriculture Department in every state. Jabatan pertanian in each country was responsible for i,:nplementing the development program for the development of the smallholder sector. Initially, the Jabatan Pertanian focused only on crop research, provide technical experts to filed operators and extension services to smallholder farmers. Although the Agriculture Department is responsible for developing the economic potential of all crops the Agriculture Department also conducting important activities that develop the rubber industry. Jabatan Pertanian Sandakan already operational before 1980. In· 1980, the first temporary building for the department of Agriculture at Sandakan Munipal Council (MPS). Next, in1983, moved to the Sabah Foundation building located in the city of Sandakan. In 1985, the Jabatan Pertanian Sandakan moved again to the Secretariat building Mile 7, Sandakan. Building and equipment for Sandakan Agriculture Office was completed in 2000 and located in miles 7 Sandakan Airport Road and in 2000 was moved to the Jabatan Pertanian Sandakan permanent building.
