Report on industrial training at hedquarters of Wilmar Plantation Sdn. Bhd. Sandakan

For subject FPA310, we were required to undergo 5 weeks internship outside the campus which started from 16 July until 18 August. The internship give us the opportunity to have real job experience such as handling a group of workers. This internship also has given us the picture of how the real industry work for the preparation of our future when we are going to enter the industry in the future. As we were given the privilege to choose where to be having our internship on our own, we choose the Sekar lmej Estate, Wilmar Plantation Sugud Region.

Wilmar international business activities include oil palm cultivation, edible oils refining, oil seeds crushing, consumer pack edible oils processing and merchandising, specially fats, oleochemicals, and biodisel manufacturing plants and grains processing and mechandising. Wilmar International limited founded in 1991, is Asia leading agribusiness group. It ranks amongst the largest listed companies by market capitalisation on the Singapore Exchange, being the second largest as of September 2010. It is a Singaporean investment holding company that provides management services to its 400+ subsidiary companies. It is also ranked 252nd in the Fortune Global 500 list in 2015. Wilmar Plantation already have many branch especially in Sabah. Head Quarters for the branch which is have in Sabah is Sandakan. The owner of this business is Kuok Khoon Hong. Wilmar become the big company after merge with PPB Oil Palms Berhad with the value transaction after merge US$ 2.7 million.
