Report on industrial training at Sime Darby Melalap and Sapong Estate Plantation

Before Sime Darby start operating, there are other company that take place with difference type of crops. In 1905 until 1961 there are company that plant rubber and the name of the company is Manchester Rubber Company, Muar River Rubber Company and also Barlow Plantations company. But in 1971 , the Barlow company change the crop into Cocoa until 1992 and after that Golden Hope Plantations take place and change the crop with rubber again. In 2000, the Golden Hope Company change their crop again into oil palm and at the Nov 2007 Sime Darby start to operate until now. Sime Darby Melalap estate are divided into 2 division. First is Main division with area 831.72 and second is Pegalan Division with area 509.86. Since from the first oil palm crop are planted,this year at Pegalan division they are replanting that area again and during our internship the age of the seedling almost 6 months already.
