Baby care guide application with the implementation of Google Maps API

Pediatrician is a clinic that provides services that specialized in medical science that concerned with the physical, mental, and social health of children from birth to young adulthood. Usually, first time parent lacks of parenting knowledge starting from pregnancy phase, childbirth until infant care. Pediatricians can help parent with issues, such as growth and development, feeding, and discipline. These problems become issues when first time parent do not know what to do and how to handle their baby needs. The first objectives of this project is to develop baby care guide application with Google Maps API implementation to track the nearest pediatrician. This application were developed by using Android Studio and Firebase. StarUML was used in order to design the class diagram, ERD, flowchart and network diagram. This project focus on anyone whose is first time parent to be the user. Google Maps API features enable user to locate the nearby pediatrician location. The second objectives of this project is to test functionality and user acceptance in making sure that the application work properly. The functionality testing was conducted by testing the application to an expert which is a lecturer from science computer department while user acceptance was conducted by giving the application to 30 first time parent to test it. The result shows that 80% was the total of respondent who were strongly agree and agree state that they satisfied with the application. It shows that, the application helps them getting more knowledge and skills about parenting add with 51.4% respondent strongly agree that it was easy to find the information they needed using this application.
