Developing mobile application to find supervisor for Universiti Teknologi Mara (UITM) final year project

Universiti Teknologi Mara final year students need to make a Final Year Project (FYP) before graduating from university. A final year project is an approach to test student’s capability, it gives student chance to apply all the skills that have they learned from university, even with the help of a supervisor, the student needs to overcome all possible errors and boundaries. The student also needs to present their project at the end of the semester and also make a thesis. Student needs to find a supervisor to guide that along with the ways to finish their project. However, it is difficult for a student to meet up with the potential supervisor. This is because student have limited information about the potential supervisor and also it is hard to make an appointment with a potential supervisor. Thus, these projects objective is to propose an e- supervisor system, a mobile application that can help the student to identify a potential supervisor. The second objective is to provide the student with a previous projects summary that can help the student make research. To accomplish this project, a laptop with Android Studio software is needed to develop e-supervisor. The real-time database is required for this project, thus Firebase approach has been applied for this project. This research shows how a complicated process of finding a supervisor can be solved by using android mobile application with real-time database.
