Abstract

The Mouse Trap with Embedded Technology (MoTrap) is a design that to help the people to reduce and solve their problem with mouse at their house. Currently, most of the people use previous mouse trap that does not effective and using hazardous rat poison. This attitude can lead to the lack of safety and awareness while using poison. This can cause the children to suffer from disease due to usage of poison that are chemically and hazardous. The objective of this project are to identify the required Internet of Things (IoT) components for the MoTrap, to develop Mouse Trap with Embedded Technology that fix both smartphone and computer and to evaluate the functionality and user acceptance of the MoTrap. There are multiple function like the user can get notification after the mouse has been trap though smartphone, view the live image from the mouse trap and can view the video that been recorded in cloud storage. The phases of the waterfall model consist of analysis, design, development, testing, implementation and maintenance. Two types of testing has been conducted which are Functionality Test and Technology Acceptance Test. There are thirty respondents among the residents participated in testing phase. From the testing the mean of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) is more than 2.5 which is high value of mean. This concludes that Mouse Trap with Embedded Technology can be implemented by the people in order to reduce and as alternative way in order to solve their problem with mouse in their house.
