Abstract

Kedah is a beautiful state in the nothern part of peninsular Malaysia, also known as the land of paddy fields. Upon visiting the state of Kedah, you are not just stepping into another Malaysia state, you are stepping into a world of warm smiles and hearty food that will connect people from different cultures and backgrounds. The nothern dialect of Malaysia is known as Kedah Malay. The native terminology for this Kedah Malay is 'loghat utagha' and it is the language that widely understood by almost all locals regardless of their race.
