Abstract
KUB Agro Holdings Sdn Bhd (formerly known as KUB Agrotech Sdn Bhd) was initially incorporated on 5 May 1979 under the name Ladang KUB-KEB Sdn Bhd. On 7 September 1994, the name was changed to KUB Agro Holdings Sdn Bhd. The company’s core business is in plantation management and development of oil palm plantations. KUB Agro Holdings owns and manages two oil palm plantations in Johor with a combined total area of 2,660 hectares. These estates produced 24,000 metric tones of oil palm fresh fruit bunches (FBB) in the year 2000. Apart from the above, a joint venture effort with KUB Sepadu Sdn Bhd resulted in the acquisition of 4,640 hectares of oil palm plantation in Mukah, Sarawak. To date, 2,500 hectares of the agricultural estate in Mukah has been fully planted, from which 500 hectares is currently producing approximately 10,000 metric tones of FBB annually. The balance of 2,140 hectares is expected to be fully planted by mid of 2002. In order to conduct its business with more efficiency, KUB Agro Holdings will construct a mill in Mukah to process its own crude palm oil.
