Abstract

This study investigates the psychological benefits of hiking among enthusiasts at Bukit Pelindung, Pahang, Malaysia, focusing on the relationship between outdoor leisure factors and mental health outcomes. Utilizing a quantitative, non-experimental survey design conducted between April and June 2025, the research employed the Nature Relatedness Scale and DASS-21 to assess how nature connectivity and hiking frequency influence depression, anxiety, and stress across different genders. By analyzing these variables in a naturalistic setting, the study provides evidence-based insights into promoting psychological well-being through accessible outdoor activities.
