Abstract
Given the rising prevalence of eating disorders globally, female elite gymnasts represent a particularly vulnerable population due to intense pressures regarding physique and aesthetics. This study investigates the risks of eating disorders and levels of body image dissatisfaction among female gymnasts, exploring the interrelation between negative self-perception and irregular eating behaviors. By addressing critical gaps in the Malaysian athletic context, the research provides essential insights to guide targeted prevention and intervention strategies for safeguarding the physical and emotional well-being of elite performers.
