Abstract

Seksyen Penguatkuasaan dan Perlindungan runs quarantine service activities to prevent shattering Sabah industry from threats and disease from the outside. This service is running based on the Plant Quarantine Act 1976 and the Plant Quarantine Regulations of 1981 been enforced. The objective existence section is to reduce the risk of entry of insects and deadly diseases including weeds, noxious weeds to the Sabah state, as well as control the movement and to prevent spread to other areas. There are four component of plant quarantine section in Malaysia; they are Peninsular Malaysia, Labuan, Sabah and Sarawak. These components in Sabah, there are seven agricultural offices that provide quarantine services which consist of Kota Kinabalu, Kuala Penyu, Sipitang, Sandakan, Lahad Datu, Semporna and Tawau. This quarantine sections mainly in their headquarters at Kota Kinabalu provide services such As Import Permit Production, Phytosanitary Certificate, Export License, and Certificate Concerning the Consignments.
