Abstract

This study examines the acute impact of weighted versus unweighted plyometric training on the explosive performance of collegiate football players. While plyometrics leverage the stretch-shortening cycle (SSC) to improve power, research on the immediate effects of adding external loads like weighted vests remains limited for university-level athletes compared to professionals. By analysing changes in sprint times, agility, and jump height among UiTM football players, this research aims to determine if loaded plyometrics offer a superior short-term stimulus for enhancing neuromuscular efficiency and on-field athleticism.
