Abstract

This study examined the impact of social media perceptions specifically social media comparison, validation, and exposure on the mental health of 200 overweight individuals. Using the Social Media Use Scale (SMUS) and the Depression Anxiety Stress Scales (DASS-21), researchers conducted a correlation analysis to identify how digital engagement influences psychological outcomes. The findings highlight the specific perception factors that contribute to depression, anxiety, and stress within this demographic, offering critical insights into the role of technology in shaping the mental well-being of individuals facing weight-related challenges.
