Abstract

This study explores the acute effects of a single bout of plyometric training on the jumping performance and kicking speed of youth Pencak Silat athletes, addressing a gap in research typically focused on long-term adaptations. By utilizing the stretch-shortening cycle to enhance explosive power, the research aims to determine how immediate neuromuscular responses can be leveraged for competition warm-ups and short-term performance optimization. The findings seek to provide coaches with evidence-based strategies for integrating sport-specific plyometrics into training periodization and preparatory routines to improve the offensive and defensive capabilities of Silat practitioners.
