Abstract

This quantitative study investigates the relationship between social support and recreational sports participation among 134 full-time students at UiTM Seremban 3. Utilizing the Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS) and self-reported weekly activity data, the research addresses how social barriers specifically lack of encouragement from family, peers, and the institution impact engagement levels. Due to non-normal data distribution, Spearman correlation and descriptive statistics were employed via SPSS to analyze the findings. The results aim to highlight the critical role of social mechanisms in fostering consistent physical activity within the university environment.
