The problem of truancy among students in schools Sekolah Kebangsaan Paloh 2

Sekolah Kebangsaan Paloh 2 is located in the small town called Paloh in Kluang district. The school is surrounded by a few villages and estates. Over the past few months the problem of truancy among students of Sekolah Kebangsaan Paloh 2 is at alarming level. Therefore, a study is conducted to identify the factors contributing to the problem. The purpose of the study is to see the level of absenteeism from various aspects such as race, age, class position, family background, place of residence, transportation and environmental factors. In this study, the causes of truancy are also reviewed in terms of teaching methods, school rules and students' learning environment. This is done through surveys conducted on selected samples taken from students.‘Several suggestions were then suggested to the school and the teachers in order that the problems of students who play truancy can be overcome successfully. After the questionnaire carried out found the problem is caused by environmental conditions, teachers, laws and regulations of the school and family problems. Results of finding the cause of the problem, three programs were carried out at the "Fun Learning" program, awards the best attendance each month, and the "home visit" carried out. The program is being implemented starting in June, July and August. After three months, it was found that the programs can stimulate students' attendance. Percentage of increasing student attendance and truancy was successfully solved in stages.
