Abstract

This study evaluates the influence of different grip styles, specifically comparing standard and cross-handed techniques, on the putting mechanics and consistency of amateur golfers. By analyzing key performance variables such as face angle, lie angle change, tempo, and total stroke time, the research investigates whether the cross-handed grip effectively reduces wrist breakdown to facilitate a smoother stroke. The findings aim to resolve existing ambiguities in motor performance literature and provide practical, evidence-based insights for golfers seeking to optimize their technique and overall performance on the green.
