Abstract
This study investigates the relationship between optimism and mental health among 73 randomly selected students from UiTM Seremban's Faculty of Sports Science and Recreation (FSR). Using the Revised Life Orientation Scale (LOT-R) and the DASS-21 instrument, the research employs Pearson correlation analysis to explore how a student's outlook influences levels of depression, anxiety, and stress. Initial findings indicate a moderate level of optimism across the cohort, suggesting that while students maintain a balanced perspective despite heavy academic and athletic demands, there is a significant opportunity to develop targeted psychological interventions that leverage optimism to enhance overall student well-being.
