Abstract

This study investigates the combined short-term effects of 16:8 intermittent fasting (IF) and thrice-weekly resistance training (RT) on weight loss and body composition among twelve physically active students at UiTM Seremban. Using bioelectrical impedance analysis over a four-week period, the research compared the integration of these protocols against isolated interventions, finding that the combined IF+RT group achieved superior weight loss ($-0.400$ kg) compared to groups performing either method alone. By focusing on individuals with normal body composition, these findings provide critical insights into diet-exercise interactions for muscle preservation and fat reduction in non-obese populations.
