Mahkota Medical Centre (MMC)

This report summarises my experience as a Finance intern at Mahkota Medical Centre (MMC) and the findings from a SWOT analysis I conducted during my internship. MMC is a private hospital located Melaka that has been growing steadily, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic increased demand for healthcare services. As the hospital looks for ways to expand and improve its operations, it is important to understand both its internal capabilities and the challenges it may face. During my internship in finance department, I was involve in various tasks like performing daily cashbook reconciliation transaction activity, sending doctor fees, checking invoice edit list non stock code and tagging fixed asset. These task help me to understand the flow of working under the finance department and develop communication skill as its a work that have to liaise with most of the staff in the hospital. The SWOT analysis in this report focuses on key financial aspects such as capital spending, investment strategies, cost control and economic risks. In the final part of each point, will included suggestions to help MMC strengthen its financial planning, reduce risks, and take advantage of new opportunities in the healthcare industry.
