UiTM, UGC (2025) Health screening volunteer training. Bulletin. UiTM Green Centre, Shah Alam.

Abstract

A health screening volunteer training program was held at the PTDI Entrance Hall on Friday, October 24, 2025. In keeping with the university's dedication to sustainable development and community well-being, 10 staff members and 58 students participated in this initiative. The program, implemented in collaboration with the National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM), supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being) through health screening training and increased early cancer awareness. In addition, the active involvement of students as volunteers also contributes to SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through strategic collaboration between universities and external agencies Among the program contents are an introduction to Cancer 101, theoretical and practical sessions on health screening such as BMI and blood pressure, lung cancer risk factor screening (Smokerlyzer), colorectal cancer screening (iFOBT), as well as liver cancer risk factor screening through Hepatitis B and C tests. This entire program was fully sponsored by NCSM. The organization of this program reflects UiTM's role in supporting the sustainability agenda through continuous empowerment of knowledge, volunteerism and community health.
