Abstract

There are many infrastructures problem occur due to poor maintenance which lead to poor quality of infrastructure. Thus, this study attempts to identify the challenges in maintaining infrastructure in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan. Using the quantitative approach, a self-administered questionnaire was distributed to 365 infrastructure consultant and contractor company in Seremban, Negeri Sembilan. All the data collected were analysed using descriptive statistics. The study showed that there are six challenges to maintain infrastructure work difficulties in controlling quality, time and cost effective by using traditional method of contracting, cost of maintenance increases due it takes longer time to do maintenance work, poor quality of contractors, inadequate motivation to contractors, overhead and inspection cost, and lack of training in the organisation. The questionnaire was developed by Google Form and submitted online to the respondents and have been analysed by using SPSS version 26 software. As the result, most of the respondents agree that the challenges in maintaining infrastructure in Seremban is cost of maintenance increase due it takes longer time to do maintenance work.
