Abstract

User-friendly facilities at university recreational sports centers are the main component in university development. The facilities are being used by disabled students who had continued their studies at that university. Few public universities in Malaysia give opportunities to disabled students to continue their studies, especially in the sports field. This study aims to outline the user-friendly sports facilities for the disabled at university sports centers. The objectives of this study are to identify the types of sports facilities for the disabled in university sports centers, to determine the level of user-friendly sports facilities for the disabled in university sports centers from student perception, and to suggest further improvement on sport facilities in the university sports center. The methodology for the study involved a literature review, data collection, and analysis of results. The progression of data collection involved obtaining primary from university students of UiTM, USM, UKM, UPM, UTM, and UPSI. All data has been analyzed using Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) software. As a result, most of the respondents are acknowledged with user-friendly facilities. The mean score and standard deviation are used to find out which facilities that have been provided are user-friendly. The listed facilities had been ranked as an indicator of the significance of the result.
