NILAM Management System

The project is developed for SMK Darul Ehsan's library to manage their Nadi Ilmu Amalan Membaca (NILAM) records. The current process inefficient because the students have to record all information themselves without being supervised by the class teacher. Besides that, students are prone to do mistakes while providing required information especially in author and publisher part. Furthermore, Guru Perpustakaan dan Media (GPM) need to approve all the particular information on the books manually by stamped and signed which is burdensome for the teacher to review all the books first. Furthermore, there is no platform to acknowledge students who get highest number of reading records and no suggestion for the student to read the suitable book during library session. Therefore, the aim of this system is to develop the NILAM Management System for SMK Darul Ehsan in improving the current operations of managing the reading records by the students. The methodology used to develop the project is modified Waterfall model and has four phases from the Waterfall model which are planning, analysis, design and implementation phase. The web “based system was developed using PHP language and MySQL database. Future recommendation for the project would be enlarge the scope of the project to integrate the project with external database such as Aplikasi Pangkalan Data Murid (APDM). Besides, improving this system by using barcode scanner benefits for the teacher to manage book information. It is also wise for the future works to still used web based system for computers because large data require more performance and processing capacity to manage the data
