Android application: FSKM for android

In this era of modernization of mobile technology, the world have experience a rapid changes in the evolutionary of the mobile devices. The technology started with the invention of telephone in the early decades and few years later, a portable phone was invented. Staffs who works at the academic affair in Faculty of Science Computer and Mathematics always facing the same questions by the students to let them know the FSKM directories even the answer is provided in the Faculty of Science Computer and Mathematics website. The goal of this development is to analyze the requirement of the android application in Faculty of Science Computer and Mathematics (FSKM), the user interfaces for android application for FSKM and develop a mobile application using android to be use in finding information through FSKM website without the use of the internet connection. Rapid Application Development (RAD) is used as a medium of procedure in developing the application. The development of the smart phone makes the phone multifunction and the needs of the internet plan for mobile become less use as the connection can be made by using free wireless. The implication is shown as the development is just focused on the web service of FSKM, and it only restrict to the FSKM students to use it. Others who use it become useless for them. The development of this application for android includes preliminary survey and the final acceptance testing module. This application is still at the initial phase which 50 students will be tested out the prototype themselves. Hence, the purpose of this project is not only to archive the objectives but also to prove that this application is to show that, by using smart phone especially in an Android platform every web services or web based development can be implemented in a single application that is useful to use in daily life.
