Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine the correlation between family background and achievement motivation among form four students. Data were obtained from 50 form four students, 25 males and 25 females, of Sekolah Menengah Agama Al Fallah, Chukai, Kemaman. Correlation results indicated no significant relationships between family environment and parental income dimensions and achievement motivation. However, family size was found to have influence on it. The study also found that female students had slightly higher level of achievement motivation than their male counterpart.
