Abstract

Zakat in one of the sources of funds available within the Islamic economic and financial
system. It is fundamental of the Islamic principles. Although it is obligatory for Muslims
to pay zakat, however the amount of payment is reatively very small compared the
income tax. One of the influencing the failure to pay zakat income is the lack of
knowledge among the Muslims. Another influence in this study is quality service but it is
very significant to influence in this study is the lack of knowledge about the zakat
income. This study was conducted to investigate whether the knowledge of zakat is
considered as one the factors of infuencing the failure to pay zakat income and to
examine the quality service as too one of the factors influencing the failure to pay zakat
income. Data from 71 respondents were analysed with the SPSS to get the results. The
result shows the knowledge about the zakat income is more influence the failure to pay
zakat income in this study. This was important because to give awareness to Muslims
peoples and to encourage the our Muslims to pay zakat income.
