Abstract

This research is about a study on the effectiveness of Human Resource Information System (HRIS) on users’ satisfaction among employees in Kolej Islam Sains dan Teknologi (KIST), Kuala Berang, Terengganu. The research is the correlation research whose purpose is to determine the correlation between the effectiveness of Human Resource Information System (HRIS) and users’ satisfaction. With the increasing effect of globalization and technology, organizations have started to use information systems in various functions and departments in the last decades. Human Resource Management is one of the departments that mostly uses management information systems. Human Resource Information System (HRIS) supports activities such as identifying potential employees, maintaining complete records on existing employees and creating programs to develop employees’ talents and skills. Human Resource Information System can also support various Human Resource practices such as workplace planning, staffing, compensation, employee relation and others. In this research, Human Resource Information System perception and Human Resource Information System satisfaction questionnaire were given to employees at Kolej Islam Sains dan Teknologi (KIST) in order to assess the effectiveness of HRIS usage in organizations. The result of the research gives valuable insight about the users’ satisfaction and the effectiveness of Human Resource Information System (HRIS) in organization.
