Abstract

This report is based on a survey conducted at Integrated Warehouse 1 (IWS 1). The main point of this research is to identified the factors that may effecting the progress of order picking operations at the warehouse. The survey has shown that the unsuitability of the handling machine in the orderpicking operations can give a great- impact on the performance of the operation in term of times taken and safety of the operation • the time taken in the operation also rely on the availability of handling machine • work flow at one department can effect the work perform at other department especially if when the departments is interrelated • documentation transaction consume longer time The recommendations given include the introducing of new selections of more suitable handling machines, provide additional handling machines, going paperless transaction operation, change to more computerised system and add more manpower.
