Abstract

The study was conducted the safety elements that has been provided in the housing area at Taman Mewah, Batu Gajah. The objective is to identify the principles and elements of CPTED safety in planning residential areas and to investigate the security situation and problems in the study area. For this study, two types of data collection method have been used which is observation and questionnaire method. The questionnaire survey has been conducted to 30 of respondent through online survey by Google Form. Observation method was used to identify the existing safety elements in the study area through the Google Earth. All the related data was used as the justification and as a guide to propose recommendation to improve the safety in the study area. All of the recommendation also has the same purpose that is to improve the area and to solve the safety issue in the area. The result analysis is carried out through questionnaire and survey, it can be concluded that the safety element is not enough and there is some area can become high-risk for crime occur. Findings from this analysis will be the basic preparation of making appropriate recommendations to improve the safety elements and to solve the safety issue in housing area at Taman Mewah, Batu Gajah. All recommendation that has been made will assist to solve the issues occurred and helps to reduce the crime at Taman Mewah, Batu Gajah.
