Abstract

In this research, an analysis is carried out on the recording process of incoming empty container into Pandamaran Container Depot. The analysis is carried out from the point when the container arrives at the depot, then stacked at the storage yard and until it is ready to be delivered to the customer's premises. All problems faced by the Operation Department will be screened and discussed in detail. This research is important because the problems may affect the efficiency of the operation and reducing the number of container stored in the depot. Due to these problems, competitors will take it as an opportunity to compete with each other in attracting more customers to make business with them. Therefore, the management of Pandamaran Container Depot has to concemtrate in improving its services and solving the problems in order to maintain its good image and reputation with customers. In addition, the MS ISO 9002 certificate must be maintained too.
