Abstract

Nowadays building maintenance has become increasingly important for many building owners and organization to ensure comfortability and safety of building users. This study is about building maintenance system which involving two parties, the maintenance management and the building’s user. The study is focusing the level of user satisfaction about the service delivery in government building in Penang. The process of study involves literature review from books, journal, magazines, questionnaires and others. A case study is also carried out to obtain the necessary data. The case study includes be given the questionnaires survey on the staff of the Gunasama Federal Building in Penang. The data collected are analyzed by choosing of Gunasama Federal building such as Tunku Syed Putra Building and Kompleks Tun Abdul Razak (KOMTAR) in Penang. Distribution of questionnaire to evaluate the service delivery on maintenance management in government building in Penang from the perception of building users (staff). Beside that ,distribution of questionnaires also to analyzed the percentage of building staff that satisfied with service delivery on maintenance management on government building in Penang. Based on case study was show the majority of building users are satisfied with the service delivery on maintenance management for both governments building. However, have a several recommendation or suggestion to existing maintenance management has been identified. It’s because the life of both government building more than 30 years. Indirectly, the recommendation and suggestion will be a guideline for an effective service delivery and maintenance management.
